Bride & Groom Clothespin Dolls

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I created these very special dolls as a gift for a wonderful co-worker who got married yesterday.

As always, all materials used in making both dolls and base are recycled materials.

The wedding dress closely resembles the bride’s actual dress and the dolls have similar likenesses to the bride and groom.

Bride
Dress: Old ribbons and lace.

Veil: Antique lace.

Hair: Black embroidery yarn (leftover from another project).

Necklace: Broken piece of jewelry.

Rose Bouquet: Applique saved from an old nightgown.

Arms: White pipe cleaner.

Garter: Blue ribbon, with a piece of antique lace and a tiny pearl (from a broken necklace). Sorry no photo…too small and difficult to photograph.

Groom
Hair: Yellow feather from an old boa.

Suit Jacket: Black ribbon wrapped around pipe cleaner.

White Shirt & Cuffs: Old white ribbon.

Slacks: Colored on with a black marker.

Base
Pink foam (from a cd package container) covered with old lace.

As I wanted to incorporate parts of the beautiful wedding invitation into the base, I used the blue ribbon with rhinestone that was wrapped around the invitation.

The top of the base was cut from a piece of the invitation. The bottom of the base, cut out from the invitation as well, includes the name of the bride and groom and wedding date.

Doll Stands
The stands were made from two small foam rings (also from the cd package container). I wrapped each ring with the same blue ribbon from the wedding invitation. I glued the rings onto the base.

Beautiful doily crocheted by fellow WordPress blogger and friend Hiromi (handmadelife1).

Enjoy!

P.S. Congratulations Bri & Vitaliy! 🙂
